Unlike US routes, airlines flying Delhi–London charge per extra bag, not per kilo — and a bag added at the airport costs far more than one booked online. Students shipping a term's worth of belongings do it cheaper by courier, and with the UK's ToR1 relief, used personal belongings usually clear customs with nothing to pay.

Airline fees are approximate, vary by fare class and season, and buy you airport-to-airport only. Courier rates above are live 21–25 kg slab rates, exclude 18% GST, and include free Delhi NCR pickup with door delivery at your UK address.
Door delivery covers every major university city — London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Coventry (Warwick), Edinburgh and Glasgow — at standard rates. Scottish Highlands and island postcodes (IV, KW, HS and similar) can carry a carrier remote-area surcharge: send us your hall's postcode and we check it against the carriers' remote lists before you book, free.
Normally no — with ToR1 relief approved before shipping, used personal effects clear without VAT or duty. Ship without ToR and you risk 20% import VAT assessed on anything customs values as new. The application is free and online; do it first.
Only POAO-compliant dry items — no meat or dairy content of any kind (that includes ghee and khoya sweets). Sealed spices and plant-based dry food are fine. Food items also carry a separate surcharge, so keep them to a small part of the box or ship them separately.
Time the pickup so delivery lands after your check-in date, or address it to your university's post room / accommodation office — most UK halls accept and hold student parcels. We help you pick the right option at booking.
Economy (₹546/kg, 6-12 Working Days) suits boxes sent 2–3 weeks before you fly; express (₹762/kg, 2-3 Working Days) is for the "term starts Monday" situation. Most students split: essentials fly with them, the rest goes economy.
