Packing Guidelines for International Courier

Proper packaging keeps your shipment safe in transit and avoids customs delays. Follow these guidelines when sending a courier abroad from India — or let our team pack it for you free of charge on pickup.

Recommended Packaging

  • Use double-wall corrugated boxes
  • Fill empty spaces with bubble wrap or void fill
  • Seal all seams with strong packing tape
  • Use new, clean boxes — not reused or weakened cartons

Fragile Items

  • Wrap each item individually in bubble wrap
  • Add foam padding between items
  • Mark the box clearly as “FRAGILE”
  • Double-box electronics and glassware

Weight & Size Limits

  • Maximum single box: 70 kg actual weight
  • Maximum dimensions: 120×80×80 cm
  • Volumetric weight applies if the box is large but light
  • Split heavy shipments across multiple boxes

Packaging Don’ts

  • No plastic bags as outer packaging
  • No newspaper wrapping (ink can stain)
  • No loose items without cushioning
  • No damaged, wet or previously-soaked boxes

Why packing matters for international shipments

Parcels travelling internationally are handled many times across sorting hubs, aircraft and customs. A well-packed box protects the contents, prevents leaks or breakage, and reduces the chance of a customs hold caused by damaged or burst packaging. It also keeps your chargeable weight down — oversized boxes attract volumetric weight charges even when the contents are light.
